Cement Dust Collectors and Environmental Dust Collection Systems
From a Batcher Vent to a Silo Top Dust Collector and on up to a Central Dust Collector System, RexCon has a long history of supplying dust collectors to reduce environmental emissions and increase concrete producer profitability. Many producers who fail to install a dust collector find themselves saddled with higher operating costs as a result of extra maintenance and unsafe work enviroments. By capturing and recycling fugitive dust emissions, adding a dust collector to your batch plant will quickly pay for itself in reduced truck mixer cleanup times, higher truck utilization, and cleaner plant sites.
Typically there are three main emissions points on a concrete batch plant which require dust collectors for cleaner operations.
1) At the cement silo, using either a rooftop dust collector or a central dust collector
2) At the cement batcher, using either a batcher vent or piping to a central dust collector
3) At the loading point, using a central dust collector and shroud
Central Dust Collectors are the most expensive but also offer the most utility and dust control for a central mix or transit mix concrete plant. Typically, RexCon supplies from 5,000 to 13,000 cfm central units, however many larger plants require more powerful units plus a combination of all three types of dust collectors for adequate dust control. At the lower end of this cfm range, central dust collectors are used for only picking up the truck loading point. However, some producers find value in routing silos, batchers, and dust shrouds to a central collector, while others prefer to contain dust at the emission point. Other sources of dust, such as at material transfer points on conveying systems are also occasionally picked up, however this is not typically not the norm.
Regardless of size or application, a completely customized environmental dust collector and control system can be installed with your new or existing concrete batch plant to reduce dust emissions and recycle cementitious materials. Depending on your climate and application, we offer several types of dust collector technologies to ensure maximum efficiency: Reverse Air, Cartridge Pulse, Pulse Jet, Shaker, and Modular Cartridge Pulse. Consult with RexCon sales staff to find the right dust collector system for your operations.
RexCon also offers various sizes of dust collector ducting, dust shrouds, automatic anti overfill and pressure sensor systems, broken filter sensors, automated cleaning and recycling systems, blast gate assemblies, lift frames, slump inspection platforms, as well as numerous other dust collector parts, kits, and accessories.
Additional Services include turnkey installation, customized engineering and layout, startup and maintenance training, and professional consultation and inspection services.
